Happy Christmas ~ Folks!

Just to say thanks again to everyone who has prayed, helped and supported this wee Band ( low country boys) over the past year...things have been very uncertain in this old world with double dip recessions and every other kind of problem ... but it is good that the Lord knows about it all...Trust In Him!.. The New Cd. should be out next month , keep your eye on this site and a great Christmas! Richard ,Gibson & Ivan !

Carryduff Gospel Hall tonight ~ cancelled!

We were to take the Sunday evening service tonight at Carryduff Gospel Hall... but with the snow still falling it has been cancelled! we will be there some time in March...last Sunday possibly?

New Cd???

I had hoped to have the latest CD we are working on out this side of Christmas but I decided to put a couple more tracks on it so it will be next month before it's finished!

The album is called ~ Low Country Boys, Plain An Simple...... I have one instrumental track to record and Richard has a couple of harmony lines to finish ,William then does a final mix and master, it is then sent of for production so mid Jan. we hope to have it!

New Album?

A few weeks ago i mentioned that there might be a new album in the pipe line...well we were in the recording studio last night with gibo puttin some vocal and banjo tracks down!.I had a chat with William ( our recording man ) to see if he could squeeze me in for an hour or two to record a couple of wee tunes and songs i had been working on..he said that he could fit me in here and there with a few hours.. this has developed a little more and i have put down a few more tracks with songs that i sing when we are out as Low Country Boys, we will end up with a dozen tracks i think!. The style will be a little different as it will be songs that I sing the lead vocal in...i hope to upload some tracks shortly on our site to give you a flavour of it, there may be some friends helping out with a song or two but nothing is setteled just yet,it is touch and go if it will be out for Christmas and we will sell it from our web site and at concerts at first and will see about the shops after Christmas..so keep your eyes on http://www.lowcountryboys.com/ for progress report!

I am just in from a n evening book launch held in the Linen Hall Library in Belfast the author is Ivan Mckeown ,Ivan played with us years ago in a little Gospel band called Pathway Some folk who made it past security!

Salvation Army ~ Belfast

Tonight Low Country Boys will be playing in Centenary House Calder Fountain Belfast @ 7.30 pm., we played here last year ..it is a great privilege and a sobering experience, of all the events or places we have ever played over the years this one leaves an indelible mark on my memory!

Over the past couple of years Richard, Gibson and myself have written a few wee songs and tunes, i went into our local recording studio to make a rough copy of a couple of songs that i had jotted down..William (our recording man ) said that he may have time to do a short album if we wanted..so we are considering this at the moment! will keep you posted to any developments!

Went to hear The Belfast Community Choir on Sat. evening
in Ballywalter Church Hall, Marie Lacey is the conductor and
leader..we took part in many events with Marie years ago
when i played in the Ronnie Graham Band!

Culture night Belfast is based in and around the Cathedral Quarter in Belfast's City Centre. It is a free, family focused cultural event that brings together arts providers, the hospitality industry and local business. Culture Night takes place on Fri 24th. Sept 2010.

Today was a beautiful day in the low country we
missed the heavy rain and flooding that the west
of Ulster got, was trimming a few hedges for a
neighbour ,watched by three limo cattle!
